Sharon Rayner, Yoga Teacher

Hi, I’m Sharon!

With 20 years of personal yoga practice, I found inspiration to teach through the powerful flows of Holistic Yoga Flow teachers, Travis Eliot and Lauren Eckstrom. Their dynamic style deeply resonated with me, helping me to become stronger, more toned and more flexible. Practicing power yoga not only enhanced my physical fitness but also left me feeling free from stress, with better joint mobility and a deep sense of calm.

Since completing my 200 HR Yoga Teacher Training, I’ve continued to develop my teaching skills through trainings with respected teachers like Jason Crandell, Nathalie Bennett, Ashley Hagen and Laura Green. Trainings have included teaching beginners, chair-based yoga, sequencing for all levels, injury prevention and yin yoga.

I’m excited to bring the empowering, fitness-focused practice of Power Yoga to Saturday mornings – a class for those wanting to elevate their fitness and experience the strength, flexibility and mental clarity that come from a strong, dynamic yoga practice.

What to expect in my Power Yoga class

While Power Yoga is a strong and dynamic practice, it’s not about rushing through poses. My classes are designed to move at a pace that allows you to connect each movement with your breath, so you can stay mindful and fully present in each pose. The focus is on strength, flow and breath – not speed.

Here’s what a typical class looks like:

🧘 Class begins in child’s pose to ground and connect with your breath.

🌅 You’ll move through a warm-up flow to wake up your spine, core and major muscle groups.

🌞 Flow through sun salutations to build heat and strength.

💪 Progress into strong standing poses mixed with vinyasas for a balanced, dynamic flow.

🤸 Challenge yourself with more advanced poses and sequences, such as balancing postures and core work.

🧘‍♂️ Cool down with floor-based stretches and hip openers.

✨ Finish in savasana (final relaxation) to absorb the effects of your practice and leave you feeling centred and calm.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where and when are the classes?

Classes are on Saturdays 9:30-10:30am at the Holistic Hub (10 Bayford Road, Littlehampton, West Sussex, BN17 5HL).

How physically demanding are these classes?

Power Yoga with Sharon is designed to build strength, heat, and improve endurance, but it’s not a fast-paced class. The sequences move at a mindful pace, allowing you to connect with your breath and stay fully engaged in your practice, building strength and flexibility without rushing through poses. And don’t worry – there are always options to modify poses and take rest when needed, so you can work at a level that feels right for you and build up gradually.

Do I need to have experience with Power Yoga?

You don’t need prior experience with Power Yoga, but a general familiarity with basic yoga poses like downward facing dog, warrior poses and sun salutations is helpful.

Will this program help me lose weight?

This is not advertised as a weight loss program. However, weight loss, flexibility and increased strength are all possible benefits of moving your body and reducing stress and tension.

What if I have an injury?

If you have an injury or any physical concerns, please check with your doctor before participating. While Power Yoga can be adapted to suit different needs, it’s important to make sure the practice is safe for your body. In some cases, a gentler class may be more appropriate.

What should I bring?

Please bring your yoga mat and water bottle. A yoga block is optional.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, stretchy clothing that allows easy movement – fitted tops and bottoms work best for flowing sequences.

Is this Vinyasa Yoga?

While Vinyasa Yoga and Power Yoga both connect movement with breath, Power Yoga is more strength-focused and emphasises full-body conditioning. We usually start in child’s pose and move swiftly into sun salutations, creating a strong and flowing sequence designed to build strength and flexibility.

What’s the difference between Power Yoga and your beginner friendly yoga classes?

My beginner friendly yoga classes are gentle, slower-paced and suitable for all levels. Power Yoga is more dynamic and physically challenging, with a focus on strength, flexibility and endurance. You’ll move into sun salutations and strong standing sequences early on, providing a workout that leaves you feeling strong and energised, yet calm.

Is there a refund policy?

Single class: You can cancel up to 24 hours before the class starts and receive a full refund. If you cancel less than 24 hours in advance, you will not receive a refund.

Monthly subscription: You can cancel further payments at any time (or message me, and I can do it for you).
