Sharon Rayner, Yoga Teacher

Hi, I’m Sharon!

I’m a yoga teacher, and I teach beginner friendly yoga flow in Littlehampton, West Sussex, UK.

I hear many people say that they would like to practice yoga, but they don’t know where to start. Another concern I hear is that “all-levels” yoga classes are too difficult. I have found that many people prefer a gentler approach to yoga. I am passionate about helping people increase strength, flexibility, balance, and achieve a calm mind, through yoga that is taught in an accessible and gentle way.

I have had a personal Vinyasa Flow Yoga practice since 2005. This style of yoga involves connecting one posture to the next using the breath and is considered a moving meditation. Through regular practice, I found that I felt better in my body, especially in my joints, and I resolved some hip and back pain and stiffness (likely caused by working in an office). My breathing and posture improved, my stress levels reduced, and I felt an unexpected improvement in my mood after each class.

After graduating from my Yoga Teacher Training in 2018, I began teaching straightaway. Since then, I have taken additional trainings including the art of teaching beginners, injury prevention and management, and yoga sequencing.

I teach Beginner Friendly Yoga Classes in Littlehampton because I know they will help you. Each week, I will gently lead you through a 1-hour yoga class. I specialise in leading gentle movement-based yoga classes without advanced or fast movements. I offer suggested options and variations for many of the poses.

“Wonderful classes, you learn and you learn and you change if not in some small way, not to mention they are fun! ⭐I’m in🥰” -O.K.

What’s included?

Beginner Friendly Yoga Classes

I specialise in leading gentle movement-based yoga classes without advanced or fast movements. I offer suggested options and variations for many of the poses, and the classes are great for both beginners and advanced practitioners.

Each class is well balanced with both flowing and stable postures.

  • Classes typically start reclined to ground and bring awareness to the breath, connecting you to the present moment.

  • You’ll gently warm up with floor-based movements.

  • Then, you’ll practice slow beginner-friendly sun salutations to link movement and breath, further warm the body, and stretch and strengthen all major muscle groups.

  • A series of standing and balancing postures will ground and strengthen.

  • Then, it’s back to floor-based postures, this time to hold stretches and cool the body back down.

  • You’ll end reclined in Savasana for final rest and relaxation and to absorb the effects of the practice.

After class, feel free to ask questions or discuss with me how you are getting on.

My goal has always been to teach a slow, deliberate yoga class that welcomes a wide range of people. A dynamic and meditative flow that synchronises movement with breath.

As my students progress, I see them become less dependent on my demos and more in tune with their own breath-based mindfulness practice. I believe the pace of my classes is key to this transformation.
